Hot new duo the JaneDear Girls are set to release their debut album on Feb. 1. The JaneDear Girls are Susie Brown and Danelle Leverett, and for this new record, they found someone you may have heard of before to produce it: John Rich. Rich has people lined up wanting to work with them, so they are already well on their way! As Rich says, “They are the girls next door that kick country a–.”
Their current Top 20 hit single, ‘Wildflower,’ is shooting up the charts, and they’ll be opening for Jason Aldean‘s My Kinda Party Tour that kicks off in Little Rock, Ark. on Jan. 21.
The girls are nominated for their first award, as well — the ACM award for Top New Vocal Duo. The Academy of Country Music Awards airs April 3 on CBS, live from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Brown’s from Utah and Leverett’s from Texas. Soon after she came to Twang Town, Brown landed backup singer gigs for several stars including Trisha Yearwood. They each performed in Nashville clubs and struggled like most everyone does. In their official bio, Leverett says, “We would eat $10 worth of taco soup for a week, every meal.”
Then Rich found them, and the rest is history. Between them, they play a total of eight instruments (accordion, acoustic guitar, bass, electric guitar, fiddle, gango, harp and mandolin), and they wrote all 11 songs on their self-titled country-rock debut album. Leverett adds, “We are feminine, all-American and country, and we like our guitars loud, our fiddles ripping and a steady beat. We want our music to make people want to get up and dance.”
